Trump to Block Publication of Mueller’s Probe

The legal team of President Trump intend to protest the full publication of the results of the investigation of special prosecutor Robert Mueller about the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 elections, a lawyer for the American leader, the former mayor of New York, Rudolph Giuliani, told The New Yorker told.

Rudolph Giuliani noted that the decision to publish the report should be taken by the US Department of Justice. In the event that Robert Mueller decides to publish the full results of the investigation, the Trump team will protest this.

According to Giuliani, initially the lawyers of the White House agreed with the Mueller team that Trump should have the opportunity to challenge the results of the report. When asked whether Trump’s really intends to do this, Giuliani replied in the affirmative.

The New Yorker recalled that, according to US law, the special prosecutor should provide the results of his investigation to Deputy Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General (Rod Rosenstein), who, in turn, decides whether to publish the report and whether to publish it in full or conceal some facts from the public. The magazine emphasizes that the final decision is up to Trump himself, since he can give instructions to Rosenstein.

Special Attorney Robert Mueller has been trying for almost a year and a half to prove that Russia interfered in the presidential elections in the US in 2016 and influenced their outcome, as well as to find traces of the Trump team’s collusion with the Kremlin. To date, Mueller’s team has not yet been able to reveal any evidence of this.
