Govt Paid $ 77,000 to Trump’s Golf Club in Scotland

The US government paid more than $ 77,000 to the Scottish golf club of President Donald Trump, where he spent the weekend before a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Reuters reported. Thus, Trump’s official visit to Europe probably generated a buck to his business empire, the agency said.

The federal records that the agency has seen indicate that the US State Department, which usually organizes presidential trips abroad, paid more than $ 77,000 to Trump SLC Turnberry Ltd since April. This company owns the resort that includes VIP hotel rooms.

Experts interviewed by the agency and former government officials reminded that Trump did not provide assurances that he does not receive immediate profits from his actions as president. The State Department declined to comment on this information, White House officials also did not respond to the agency’s request for comments.

Unlike other recent presidents, Trump has refused to release his tax returns.

Trump completed the working part of his visit to the United Kingdom on July 13, and then took part in the NATO summit. After that, the American leader spent the weekend in Scotland in his own golf club Trump Turnberry. There, the US president also prepared to meet with the Russian president in Helsinki, Finland on July 16.
