Edwin C. Gelvin

Edwin C. “Eddie” Gelvin Sr., 80, Fort Littleton, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born in Ft. Littleton, February 17, 1935, the son of the late Beulah L. (Fogal) and Clarence M. Gelvin. He was the husband of Mildred E. ( Truax) Gelvin, whom he married on June 13, 1953.

He was a truck driver for many years and retired from Roadway in 1997. He enjoyed playing music, talking on the CB and being with family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy (wife of Ernie) Seiders, McConnellsburg; sons: Ricky C. Gelvin of Waterfall; Mike (husband of Tammy) Gelvin, Hustontown; and Boyd W. (husband of Rita) Gelvin, Three Springs; a brother, Rheon (husband of Patsy) Gelvin, Hustontown; 11 grandchildren; four step- grandchildren; and 21 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin C. Gelvin Jr., and an infant sister.

Friends are invited for a celebration of life memorial for Edwin Gelvin and Shirley Truax on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Celebration’s Unlimited, 27994 Great Cove Road, Ft. Littleton, PA 17223.

Arrangements were made by Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg.

Robert graduated from Brandman University, where he got his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Born in Massachusetts, Robert’s family moved to Kentucky in 2005 where he spent his college life and worked as an insurance agent for four years. Now is the founder and team leader of the website.
