Waukesha WRAP art exhibit winners heading to State contest

WAUKESHA — State Award winners of the Wisconsin Regional Artist Program will be going to the Wasau conference September 23. The art exhibit was sponsored by the Waukesha Creative Arts League and held from April 22 to May 20 at the Oconomowoc Art Center.

Abstract Expressionist Artist Kelly Hausknecht critiqued 85 pieces of art and selected 11 award winning pieces.

State Award winners who are members of the Waukesha Creative Arts League are Elizabeth Clayton, Renee Couture, Shannon Finger, Emma Macari and Jim Marsala. Non WCAL members with State Awards are Carol Brown, Karla Fuller, Barbara Kelsey, Tom O’Reilly and Terry Sachse. Eleven Honorable Mentions were given to Susan Behrens, David Bueschel, Anita Hagen, Kathleen Hosch, Janet Hudacheck, Jean Pascek, Nancy Peterson, Margaret Schumann, Susan Schwegel, Ellen Smith and Bev Smith.

Best of Show was awarded to Carol Brown for her painting “Brown Pelican.” The coordinators Choice award went to Shannon Finger for her painting “Go Ahead Make My Day.”



Jessica studied Criminal Justice in Ohio-based Defiance College. In 2011, she moved to McConnellsburg with his husband where she practiced her profession. She is one of the part-time writers of the team and she is passionate about crime-related news stories in and around the US.
