Multiple viewers reported the sighting of bright light over the southern Wisconsin at February 28 night. Judging by the dashcam videos uploaded to Youtube it can be classified as a meteorite. No sound was present so we can presume that it burnt out in stratosphere. Officials have not commented the event yet.
This meteorite is the second in this winter over Wisconsin. The first one was sighted at Jan 17. There were several reports of a bright light in the sky and following sound of explosion.
The most spectacular meteor sighting in newest history has been observed five years ago. Big meteor has exploded over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. The light from the meteor was brighter than the Sun. It has been observed over a wide area of the southern Ural region. The explosion generated a bright flash and large shock wave. 1,500 people were injured by the glass shards.
